Let me introduce myself – Helen and my business partner Rachel. We met back in 2012 and became great friends over the last 10 years, we both live in the delightful village of Cottingham, East Yorkshire, with our families and most importantly our doggies, Holly, Chief and Winnie.
Having spent many a happy evening looking for home accessories to finish off the latest decoration project in our own homes, usually over a glass or two of wine, we realised that there was a gap in the local market for being able to source individual accessories, pieces and furniture locally. We just didn’t want ‘the same as everyone else’. We had (and still do) spend hours, many hours, creating our ideas and turning them into reality, room by room in our homes and the pinnacle always being the finishing touches to bring our visions to life.
With a passion for all things design and colourful I spent 2 years at the local college in Bishop Burton studying Interior Design and was and still am, always willing to share my passion with friends and family. I had the pleasure of virtually rebuilding my current home in 2017 which has finally been completed in September 2021 and Rachel is about to start on the remodelling of her home in 2022 – how exciting! Combined with a pandemic which made shopping in person unachievable, Rachel and I one cold evening, made the leap of faith and Bert & Stella was born!
